Sun Of Righteousness

But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in His wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” (Malachi 4:2 – written 400 years before Jesus walked this earth)

Here we are in 2020, following an unprecedented Passover, with areas of the world still locked down and the roaring lion of Covid-19 still stalking abroad in search of someone to devour. We need to remember that on Easter Sunday the Lord fulfilled His promise and rose again, and that in the words of the beloved disciple, “greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

This was probably the closest the world has ever yet been to Egypt at that first ever Passover, just before the final Plague was unleashed, and Pharaoh relented.

History tells us that Egypt was never the same again.

This scripture – and the image are very encouraging and, yes – take heart!

However, pay attention also to the fact that the scripture says “who fear my name“, and not “who once feared my name”.  There is a difference and its importance is crucial.

‘Once Saved, Always Saved’ – ?

Do not be deceived.  In the middle of the night a few nights back, I was suddenly struck with the need to create something along the theme of ‘Once Saved, Always Saved’.  I sat up in bed with a pen and paper and wrote down 10 scripture quotes and keys relating to this topic that came immediately to mind.

I know I shall have to create an image for the theme, and I have not done that yet, but twice in my brief Internet wanderings since then, this theme has resurfaced: so I must regard it as important, even urgent.

The urgency that comes to me over this is that many people are now being deceived by Bible quotes presented with deliberate intent to mislead, and by statements from lukewarm churches, into thinking that ‘all’s right with the world’ IF they have said the Sinner’s Prayer at some stage in the past, and/or if they “believe in God” and turn up at Church, regardless of what happens in their lives during the rest of the week.

An increasing certainty that this is yet another of the enemy’s end-time deceptions is fueling my sense of urgency on this.  Souls are at stake.

More to follow.

  1. Awesome post!! In answer to that question, you must know what meaning is placed concerning the word, “Saved.” It comes from the Greek word “sozo” which literally translates as “made whole.” From the Word’s perspective, man became no longer whole when he disobeyed God’s one and only law. The consequence of which was death (the separation of life, i.e. spirit from the body and soul part of man). When Jesus was risen from the dead, God sat Him on God’s own right hand (the hand of blessing) and gave Him a job to perform (the leadership of the called out to perform the Ministry of Reconciliation). The benefit to the called out was to be given holy spirit in the form of spiritual seed. That new spirit (the Christ in you) is how man was once more made whole (body, soul and spirit). The moment you made Jesus Lord (the boss) of your life, knowing full well that God raised Him from the dead, you received holy spirit as seed, thus making you whole (Romans 10:9&10). At that time the old man died and the new man took his place within the body of Christ. As Christ is risen, so shall we when Christ returns for the called out, which is the church.

    How’s that for an answer?

    John

P.S. Let them make up their own minds. They will anyways. lol
